The '70s come under K-Tel's country music lens, with both veterans and rising stars delivering fine sides from a decade when Nashville sported huge wigs and co-dependent singing couples. On the cosmetic end, the queen herself, Tammy Wynette, is featured both solo ("'Til I Get It Right") and alongside then-husband George Jones for their huge smash "Golden Ring." Divas in waiting Barbara Mandrell and Tanya Tucker also chime in with a couple of hits. And as far as the men go, the likes of Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Jones again figure prominently in the proceedings. Country music in a compact and budget-line package.
