Vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson's Columbia releases, although well distributed at the time, are now difficult to find and have not been reissued on CD. This is one of his lesser efforts, a set that matches Hutcherson's quintet (which also includes pianist George Cables, bassist James Leary, drummer Eddie Marshall and percussionist Kenneth Nash) with 13 horns (including flutist Hubert Laws). The seven originals are by bandmembers and pianist Cedar Walton (who produced and arranged the set). Although well played and reasonably challenging, nothing all that memorable occurs.
