AllMusic Review by

A two-CD set that probably could have been scaled back to one, Bucketheadland is a goofy concept album plotting a bizarre narrative incorporating Japanese robot shows, theme parks, epic battles, Willy Wonka, Buckethead's parents, and lots and lots of toys. Released in Japan on John Zorn's Avant imprint, the album freely mixes arena rock, speed metal, dirty funk, and aimless noodling, and is jam-packed with obscure references that probably make sense only to their author. The second disc is comprised of mainly throwaway techno reworkings of tracks from the first.
