Boogie Wonderland: The Ultimate Earth, Wind & Fire Collection is closer to decent than it is to ultimate. It rounds up a disc's worth of material and draws only from the band's mid- to late-'70s and early-'80s albums. Understandably, there's nothing from the two early-'70s Warner releases. There's nothing from the first two Columbia albums, either -- so no "Power" or "Evil." The non-chronological track sequencing is strange, with "Boogie Wonderland" the opener and the earlier "That's the Way of the World" as the finale, and continual hopping back and forth in between. Many of the biggest hits, such as "September," "After the Love Has Gone," and "Let's Groove," are included. Despite its odd presentation -- only "Boogie Wonderland" appears on the spine of the CD -- it's a legitimate, Sony-affiliated anthology.
