This is an orchestral re-recording of the score for the popular 1995 film Babe: A Little Pig Goes a Long Way. In celebration of the film's 20th anniversary, original composer Nigel Westlake reunited with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to revisit his score, which incorporated various quotations and motifs from 19th century French classic music, particularly Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony. The original soundtrack, which first appeared in 1995 and was also recorded with the Melbourne Symphony, featured singing and selections of dialogue taken from the movie. The 2015 anniversary recording is entirely instrumental, and focuses solely on Westlake's charming and diverse score.
