AllMusic Review by

From the first few tracks, it's clear Audio Couture has the fashionable end of the dance scene sewn up; "Poor Leno" by Röyskopp, "Cry Baby" by Spiller, and the sleek nu-disco sheen of the Mirwais mix of "2 People" by Jean-Jacques Smoothie just scream trendiness. There's a lot more going on here than just a hip sound, though, with a few classics (mixes of Stetsasonic's "Talkin All That Jazz" and the Stone Roses' "Elephant Stone") sprinkled in amongst a raft of left-field choices (by Air, Silicone Soul, Zero 7, Mr. Scruff, the Beta Band, Turin Brakes) and some well-chosen hits ("Jus 1 Kiss" by Basement Jaxx, "Silver Screen (Shower Scene)" by Felix da Housecat, "One More Time" by Daft Punk). In one sense, Audio Couture is a two-disc set that wants to have it both ways by shuttling back and forth between upfront chill-out music and a laid-back house mix. Remarkably, it succeeds.
