For this very spirited CD, trombonist Big Bill Bissonnette utilized 18 musicians (mostly obscure names other than clarinetist/altoist Sammy Rimington) in a variety of settings. The music is a rambunctious and often-erratic but always sincere variety of New Orleans jazz. Not everything works but listeners who enjoy classic jazz and do not mind tonal variations (not everyone is in tune at all times) will find the unusual set of interest.
