AllMusic Review by

1968: A Time to Remember is a fun and very strange collection of British chart hits from 1968. The music ranges from the psychedelic pop of Donovan ("Jennifer Juniper" and "Hurdy Gurdy Man") and the Hollies ("Listen to Me") to the feel-good sound of the Beach Boys ("Darlin'" and "Do It Again") to the earthy sound of the Band ("The Weight") and Canned Heat ("On the Road Again") to the silly novelty songs of the Bonzo Dog Band ("I'm the Urban Spaceman") and the Scaffold ("Lily the Pink") to the smarmy pop of Frankie Vaughan ("Nevertheless [I'm in Love With You]") and Solomon King ("She Wears My Ring"). Quite a spectrum of sounds, that is. The collection suffers a bit for having two songs each by Donovan, the Hollies, and the Beach Boys. Surely there were other artists who could have filled in. Still, if you're looking for a taste of the weird year that was 1968, you could do a lot worse.
