Madacy's #1 Pop Hits of the 60s & 70s offers up a paltry ten songs all of which are, oddly enough, from the '60s. And all but one of which are re-recordings except for the Archies' "Sugar, Sugar." The rest are pretty tough to swallow re-dos of classics like the Association's "Windy" and the Miracles' "Tears of a Clown." There is also a live version of Marvin Gaye's "Heard It Through the Grapevine." At least the label lets you know upfront that you are getting re-recordings. Give them credit for that before you rip them for cynically attempting to ruin people's memories of the past.
