AllMusic Review by

In 1986 the international human rights watchdog group Amnesty International celebrated their 25th anniversary by staging a benefit concert tour, "Conspiracy of Hope," in which a handful of leading rock and pop artists (including U2, the Police, and Lou Reed) showed their support for AI and their work. "Conspiracy of Hope" was the first of several tours that would be staged to raise funds and increase awareness for Amnesty International, and ¡Released! The Human Rights Concerts brings together filmed documents of five different benefit shows staged between 1986 and 1998. Artists featured include Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, Green Day, Miles Davis, and many more.
